Hertha Phyllis Eason
Hertha Phyllis Eason (1896-1974)
Eason was a well respected member of the White Stag Group of artists based in Dublin. The Group flourished especially in the 1940s and although information available is a little sparse, Eason was involved in discussions with fellow artist Basil Rakoczi in 1942 when they met for tea with the artist Jack B Yeats. In 1946 Eason was given a solo show by the White Stag Group in Dublin, which is likely to have featured her paintings of her home city. She lived on Mount Street Crescent, which was quite close to St Stephen’s Green in Dublin.
