October Update

This update includes a large and quite scarce etching with aquatint, ‘Wish’ from 1986, by one of Britain’s most important abstract artists, John Hoyland RA (1934-2011). The etching is in lovely original condition and would make an impressive addition to a collection of Modern British art. There are also works by Carel Weight, RA (1908-1997), Sir William George Gillies, RA, RSA (a drawing of Balmacara in north-west Scotland), an oil on panel of the backs of houses in London during wartime by Karl Hagedorn, RBA (1889-1969), abstract oils by Peter Haigh (1914-1994), Geoffrey Clarke, RA (1924-2014) and George W. Hooper RBA (1910-1994), plus modern design with furniture by Florence Knoll and the Danish designers Kai Kristiansen and Johannes Andersen.
