News: March 2022 update

04.03.22 We are pleased to announce our update for March to the website.

The latest additions to the site include a mixed media abstract painting by William John Bertram Newcombe (1907-1969) from 1964.

There is also a 1950s oil on panel by Marjorie Hawke (1894-1979) who studied at the Westminster School of Art under Bernard Meninsky. It is titled ‘Southern City’, and we believe depicts a scene from either Egpyt or India.

We have added another mixed media abstract work by Bernard Kay (1927-2021) from 1955.

In addition there is an interesting industrial scene oil painting by Maurice Kelly (1920-2015), titled ‘Working the Quarry’ painted in 1956, and a delightful print by Sylvia Melland (1906-1993), titled ‘Sanary, Southern France’. Sanary-sur-mer is located in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur region in south eastern France.

We still have works awaiting framing and cleaning so will look to launch a more comprehensive update once these are ready.
