Title: Untitled Abstract, 1962

Description: An original abstract painting in mixed media dating from 1962. This painting is unsigned and was acquired several years ago from the late artist’s partner. It has the estate stamp in the left hand margin (please see image 4 and is dated by the artist ‘April 62’ verso on the overlap of the work (see image 3). It is in good unfaded condition, with no tears to the paper. A similar work by Benjamin, albeit a very large abstract oil painting, titled ‘Senius’ and also from 1962, is held in the collection of Manchester Art Gallery. That painting may be viewed on Art UK for comparative purposes. We have recently had the work reframed to a high standard including the use of anti reflective Artglass.
