Description: An original watercolour of an interior likely painted at the artist’s then home, 16 Ridgeway Road, Redhill, Surrey, with the artist’s wife Joyce Hooper seated at the kitchen table. The work is signed by the artist lower left and dated there 1957. As the years passed, and demand from collectors and dealers grew, Hooper signed a lot of the earlier work in the 1980s. We think this is one such example. There is an exhibition label verso which we think was transferred from an older frame and then fixed to the new backboard. The watercolour is in ready to hang condition.
