Title: ‘Still Life with Flowers on a Table’

Description: An original oil painting on canvas. This painting has been in private ownership near Brighton for a good many years and was acquired by us directly from the previous owner. The work is housed in its original frame and it is in entirely untouched condition, not in need of work. The canvas is in very good condition and the frame is lovely, with just a little bit of wear and tear over the years, which adds to the charm of it. The painting has the artist’s handwritten label verso, which gives his then address as The College, Brighton. There is also another handwritten label which refers to Ship Street (Brighton) and an exhibition sticker with the number 965. It look like an RA sticker to us but we have not be able to pin it down accurately. Although not dated we think it very likely this painting will be from the late 1940s.

Size: It measures about 20.1 x 16.1 inches canvas size and in the frame is about 25.3 x 21.2 inches
