Michael Gillespie

Michael Norman Gillespie (1929-2012)

was a well-known sculptor, often in bronze, and a highly accomplished caster in bronze whose commissions included work for Jacob Epstein and Elisabeth Frink. He was born in London and studied at Hammersmith College of Art 1952-56. Michael Gillespie exhibited at the Royal Academy 1962-63, when he was living in west London, at the Royal West of England Academy, and he also showed at the Gilbert-Parr Gallery in London and at a number of the Cambridge colleges. He lived for many years in Cambridgeshire.
