Jeffery Camp

Jeffery Camp, RA (b. 1923)

is a well known painter mainly of landscape, coastal and figure subjects. He was born at Oulton Broad in Suffolk and studied at Lowestoft, Ipswich and Edinburgh Colleges of Art. Jeffery Camp exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1947 and again more regularly from 1970 becoming a member of the RA in 1984. He also showed with the London Group. His first solo show was held at the Beaux Arts Gallery 1959 and subsequent exhibitions included the New Art Centre, South London Art Gallery, Nigel Greenwood Gallery, Art Space Gallery and Jerwood Gallery, Hastings 2013. He taught at the Slade School 1963-88.
His work is represented in many public collections, including The Tate Gallery, Arts Council Collection, British Council Collection, Government Art Collection, Imperial War Museum, Bradford Museums, Colchester and Ipswich Museums, Laing Art Gallery and Swindon Art Gallery. He lives in London.
