Andrzej Jackowski

Andrzej Jackowski (born 1947)

is a well-known painter and teacher. He was born in North Wales of Polish parents and studied art at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts 1966-69, Falmouth School of Art 1972-73 and at the Royal College of Art 1974-77. Andrzej Jackowski has exhibited extensively, with numerous solo shows, including Anne Berthoud Gallery, London 1982; Marlborough Fine Art, London 1986; Purdy Hicks Gallery, London; University of Northumbria, Newcastle 2003; Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne. His work is held in a number of public collections including the Arts Council collection, British Council collection, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Brighton & Hove Museums & Galleries, Harris Museum & Art Gallery Preston, National Museum of Wales, University of Surrey (several examples) and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. The artist lived in Brighton for some years.
